Creative Copy Challenge Meditation

by | Feb 3, 2015 | Creative Writing | 4 comments

Blog conceptCreative Copy Challenge is like meditation in the middle of a stressful day.

It is a deep breath reminding us how simple, yet complex life is.

I always write my submission first before reading any of the others written by this wonderful community of online friends.

I started that habit because I didn’t want to be influenced by the way others used the challenge words. But when I go back to read them, I am definitely influenced.

Influenced by the generosity, the caring, and the gift of others.

The following is my submission. The challenge words from this word prompt site are in bold.

Reward yourself by reading some of the other submissions. I guarantee you will enjoy them.

Creative Copy Challenge #371

The voice held a subtle influence she had not felt before. Finally, the essence of who she was broke free of the subterfuge called life.

The answers she wrote would be froth to most. But for her they were the light hidden in a rolling sea of despair.

She would wander no more if the marvelous words would streamline all she sought. It had been a lifetime operation that left her weary and more than a little afraid.

Success had been so hard to define, yet simple at the same time.

Was she brave enough to try?

Way to go with working subterfuge in there. 🙂

I’ve used the list to jump start my poetry writing. I may not use every word, but often one word will stand out. It becomes the basis for my poem. I toss it around in my brain for a while and see what sticks where. 🙂

Thanks, Lori. I love those little challenges. I’ll have to go on a CCC hunt in your poetry to see if I can find a word or two. 😉 Whatever inspires, right?
