Even the Greatest Authors Are Misunderstood

From Creative Copy Challenge #55

“Don’t take that tone with me. I’m serious, this is no joke. Under no circumstance, are you going to satisfy your morbid curiosity by making a copy of that sick, perverted photograph.”

“But, Mooooom, how am I ever going to be a pro writer unless I know the sordid side of life?”

“Well, isn’t this a wonderful conversation? My 11-year-old son finds art in this trash! Go to your room and think about what I said – and do NOT pull out your comic books!”

Grumbling up the stairs, Stephen felt like a real loser and that his life definitely did suck.

“And stop with the stomping or I’ll take away all your comic books,” his Mom yelled up the stairs. She shook her head, wondering where her son got such ideas – Stephen King, a writer – yeah, right!

The Short and Sweet collection comes from many sources. Some are from the writing prompts challenges at Creative Copy Challenge (the words in bold are the writing prompts).

Others are snippets I have written over time. I’m not sure they’re sweet, but they are short and cover almost any topic. I hope you enjoy.
