With 129 days until my 19th 3-Day, 60-Mile Walk, it’s time to dust off the Pink blog.
Although with the latest Boise temperatures, it’s probably more red than pink. Can you spell sweltering?
Catch-up Time
Pink Fundraising
If you do not know already, my awesome contributors blasted me over the minimum required to walk another 3-Day, 60-Mile Walk.
To date, my 2022 total raised is…drum roll, please…
#3,029.80!!!
Awesome. And I found out from my 3-Day coach that I am slightly over $1,900 from raising a lifetime total (since 2003) of $50,000. Can you believe that? What’s even more amazing is my teammate, Penny, has raised over $100,000. I bow to the Queen of Fundraising.
Pink Break
And speaking of Penny, she has been my sole teammate walking with me the last two Walks (skipping over 2020 for all of us – I bet you can guess why). She is due to walk 2022 but she broke a small bone in her foot. I think this is the third break for Penny in the last several years.
So, her participation is questionable but this Old Lady Walking is still walking – the good Lord willing. The Pandemic Pause was enough for me (although I did do a Virtual 60-Mile Walk).
Happy Feet
After a bit of a panic, MBT finally came through with refreshed stock of my funny-looking MBT walking sandals. Although I have still been unable to get my preferred model, I purchased my second favorite. After walking 18 Walks, the prospect of changing up shoes was downright frightening. I am still hopeful they will get in my size of my preferred walking sandal.
Fingers crossed.
Pink Wrap-up (for now)
I am still getting in my daily walks, although very early for these hot summer months.
- I am also gladly accepting donations for anyone who wants to contribute (at my Personal Page).
- It would be cool to hit the $50,000 lifetime mark (but I suspect it will happen next year – on my 20th Walk!)
- And I am always taking names of loved ones affected by cancer to wear on the Walk.
To my contributors, I will be sending the list of names a month or so before the Walk to make sure I have them all. If you cannot contribute, I still will proudly wear any names you want to share.
Thank you to everyone for your generous and ongoing support. I would never have walked so far (so many times) without all of you who have been in my corner. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Walk on.
Hi Cathy,
Seems like the planet is on fire. Yikes. We’ll be promoted to a star soon. LOL
It’s always fun to read about your walks. I hope you get to the 50K mark this year!
Cheers,
Mitch
Promoted to a star. Put that way, it’s almost inviting. 😀 Almost. It would be cool to hit the $50K mark but it’s also cool to do it on the 20th Walk. Thanks for all your support, Mitch!
